52nd Robert Flaherty Film Seminar

The 2006 Robert Flaherty Film Seminar
REGISTER ONLINE TODAY AT flahertyseminar.org
“Creative Demolition,” the 52nd Flaherty Seminar, uncovers how media molds culture and how culture returns the favor. Programmers Ariella Ben-Dov and Steve Seid present an audacious mix of documentary, fiction, animation, live performance, and hybrids. These works explore consumer consciousness, imperial power, aberrant behavior, the clash of cultures, and other themes that lead participants to deconstruct the relationship between media and social behavior and ultimately each other. Guests include Zoe Beloff, Vittorio De Seta, Jacqueline Goss, Vijay Iyer & Michael Ladd, Sharon Lockhart and Rithy Panh among others.

The Robert Flaherty Film Seminar is open to all artists, practitioners, students and enthusiasts of film and video. Participants spend a week of intensive viewing and impassioned discussion in a relaxed retreat-like environment out of which emerges the unique “Flaherty experience.”

The all-inclusive seminar registration fee includes accommodations, meals, seminar screenings, discussions, receptions, and all other special events during the week! Register by May 1st to receive a discounted rate.

Fellowships, with a partial fee reduction, are available. Deadline: March 20, 2006. Visit flahertyseminar.org for applications and more details.
