United Nations Website Copywriter Needed

Background:

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were derived from the Millennium Declaration adopted by the Heads of State at the United Nations Millennium Summit, held in September 2000, representing 189 countries. The United Nations Millennium Campaign seeks to work with citizens groups, youth, Parliamentarians and local authorities to build political will for the realization of these Goals, within the framework provided by the Declaration.

The Millennium Campaign is redesigning its global site (milleniumcampaign.org) to cater to the general public.  As a result of the redesign, the content must be redrafted for an audience unaware of development issues.  The new text must be:
 
Mobilising
Easy to understand
Free of American or Development jargon

Competencies:

The successful candidate must be:
   
An excellent communicator, with good time management, detail-orientation skills and editorial/writing skills,

Able to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.
   
Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing tight deadlines and achieving results.

Knowledge of development issues is helpful.

 
Qualifications:

A first-level university degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience in relevant fields.
