Current TV announces Tolerance Initiative

Current TV wants you to make a video about tolerance In partnership with the Third Millennium Foundation, Current is unveiling
Seeds of Tolerance, an opportunity for aspiring journalists and filmmakers interested in producing a video for Current.

WHAT WE WANT

We're looking for original short-form nonfiction videos, or "pods," on the issue of unlearning intolerance and understanding diversity. Tell us what
tolerance means to you. Entries can discuss racism, sexism, homophobia, economic or social class, disability, age or religion.

PRIZES

Five semi-finalists will air on the network, and the grand prize winner will earn $100,000 cash, along with an additional $15,000 to a relevant charity of his or her choice. Two finalists will walk away with $10,000 each.

All of the entries are eligible to be aired on the network.

DETAILS

Seeds of Tolerance submissions are due August 15, 2006. We will post our five semi-finalists on the site on October 10, 2006, and you can cast your vote and tell us who you think should win the grand prize. Grand prize recipient and finalists will be announced on October 23.

JUDGES

Guest judges Edward Norton, Paul Haggis, Melissa Etheridge, and Margaret Cho will help select our five semi-finalists along with a panel of Current and Third Millennium staff. The final vote will be cast by you, our viewers.
