Immigrant Justice 2006

How is the immigrant rights movement building? What comes next?

Immigration is currently the most contentious issue in the country.  This spring, millions of people took to the street for immigrant rights. Join Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ) at this important and timely forum to learn more about the growth and challenges of the current immigrant rights movement, the historical context for this round of struggle, and how to take action and speak up as Jews.  Speakers will include:

Raquel Batista, Director of the Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights

Rabbi Lisa Grushcow, Congregation Rodeph Sholom

Ariella Rotramel, Active JFREJ Member and Graduate Student, Women's and Gender Studies, Rutgers University

Moderated by Jon Moscow, Managing partner of the Sterner-Moscow Partnership, long-time education and social justice activist, and JFREJ Board Member

When: Wednesday, July 26th, 7-9pm
Where: Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 7 West 83rd St (Between Central Park West and Columbus Ave) [Subway: B or C train to 81st St.]
