July 22: Young Global Leaders Summit, New Haven, CT
On Saturday, July 22, Americans for Informed Democracy is hosting a Young Global Leaders Summit: . The summit will bring together young global leaders from across the U.S. for a day of workshops, speakers, and discussions on how young people can raise global awareness through new and old media. Students will hear from top experts and then have the chance to weigh in with their own view on how the U.S. media's presentation of global issues can be improved � and what role young people can play in this process. Students will also have the opportunity to attend key workshops on strategies for writing pieces on foreign affairs for student newspapers and talking global issues with non-expert audiences.
Confirmed speakers at the summit include Warren Hoge, U.N. Bureau Chief at The New York Times and Irving Stolberg, Former President of the National Conference of State Legislatures. Arts Engine's Wendy Cohen is participating in the panel titled, "Future of Global Media � New Frontiers in Getting Our News."
