RECYouth announces the 3rd Annual Multi-Media Festival showcasing youth-produced video and audio projects from RECYouth programs and partnerships.

RECYouth: Reel Education & Communication for Youth: NYC youth (ages 6 - 19) participating in the RECYouth program learn the skills necessary to become digital filmmakers, musicians and storytellers.
RECYouth offers free, citywide, year-round programming, based in City of New York Parks & Recreation's Computer Resource Centers. We offer both after-school and teen programs in which students are trained in digital video and audio production through hands-on, pre-employment technology and arts instruction.
The Summer Workshop Series features hands-on workships, screenings, Q&A and more with media, film and music industry professionals. These are free and open to the public.
July & August, 2006 Scheduled Workshops:
Animation Collection: Visit the Animation Collective, a leading producer of animated programming for television, web and film.
Meet July 21st, 2:30 pm @ Chelsea Recreation Center, 430W. 25th St.

VJ 101: learn from a professional VJ how to scratch and project video clips.
Meet August 4th, 3-6 pm @ Redhook Recreation Center, 155 Bay St., Bklyn.
MNN Youth Channel Block Party: Join other youth, media and music industry special guests for a summer block party. Live performances, food, workshops and an outrdoor screening.
Meet August 12th, 3pm - 9pm @ Jackie Robinson Recreation Center, 145th St., Bradhurst Ave., Harlem.
Improv and Comedy: Laugh till you puke! Improv/Comedy/Character workshop with comedian and Blue Man Michael Rahall. Learn the secrets of Improv Acting and getting laughs.
Meet August 14th, 3:30pm @ Chelsea Recreation Center, 420 W. 25th St., Manhattan.
REMIX Culture: Learn about the history of the re-mix and how to apply the concept anywhere and everywhere. With award-winning journalist, witer and producer Matt Mason.
Meet August 10th, 4-6pm @ St. Johns Recreationn Center, 1251 Prospect PL., Bklyn.
New Media Magazine: hosted by Creme Magazine's Domingo Martin and Gladymir Leveille. Learn to use new media to create your own online publication and get the word out.
