Founded in 1967, Third World Newsreel is one of the oldest alternative media arts organizations in the United States, committed to the creation and appreciation of independent and social issue media by and about people of color, and the peoples of developing countries around the world.
The following positions are part-time and perfect for graduate students, college students, and/or recent college grads. The organization is based in New York City.

THIRD WORLD NEWSREEL SEEKS
PART TIME DISTRIBUTION & MARKETING COORDINATOR
The Distribution & Marketing Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Administrative/Operations Coordinator to advance TWN's mission and programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with filmmakers, dealing with the public, developing and nurturing new talent, excellent writing and communication skills, considerable knowledge of contacts and organizations within the film and television industry in New York City, and willingness to expand international sales and acquisitions to increase our global presence. The Distribution & Marketing Coordinator works with a multicultural staff and constituency. Constituencies include artists, educators, curators, programmers, activists and cultural workers who use film and digital media.
Duties include: Overseeing accurate, timely royalty reports and payments to filmmakers; Seeking new titles for acquisition in accordance with TWN’s missions and goals; Writing copy and advertising for public relations purposes, including press releases, program descriptions, bios, etc., and working with designer to produce online and print materials; Developing relationships with exhibitors and broadcast entities, negotiating licensing deals; Coordinating, attending and representing TWN at events; Maintenance of educational list-serves.

PART TIME ADMINISTRATIVE/OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
The Administrative/Operations Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Distribution/Marketing Director to advance TWN's mission and programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with the public, excellent writing, organizational and communication skills. Experience with the independent film and television industry, along with knowledge of political and social issue media important. The Administrative/Operations Coordinator works with a multicultural staff and constituency. Constituencies include artists, educators, curators, programmers, activists and cultural workers who use film and digital media.
Duties include: Keeping track of website orders, computer database and liaison with fulfillment/duplication house and troubleshooting booking issues with customers; Overseeing accounts receivable activity and customer and filmmaker database; Work with Distribution Director to coordinate, attend, and represent TWN at events, including developing and producing special programs as necessary.
