Project FAIR will celebrate its 5-year Anniversary at its Annual Fundraising Event on Saturday, October 14th in downtown Manhattan. The event will be attended by lawyers, advocates, law students, legislatures, donors, and supporters and will include a short film screening, a silent auction and a D.J.

Project FAIR is a collaborative, citywide economic justice initiative that empowers low-income individuals, families, and communities by increasing access to public benefit programs, legal rights and information, and community services. We run a Legal Help Desk at NYC's central fair hearing site - which is where people go when they have problems with their substantive benefits and conduct Know Your Rights workshops at community organizations around New York City. Our work grows more important each day as one in five New York City residents live in poverty, and over 2.5 million receive public assistance, food stamps, or Medicaid.

We are looking for filmmakers to assist us in this endeavor and to contribute their work for the film screening. We will consider documentaries, fiction, music and art films related to economic and social justice. Not all submissions will be screened.
