Sudan: Media Under Pressure
Harassment of Media Undermines Implementation of Peace Agreement!
According to the Human Rights Warch, the Sudanese government is engaged in a rampant effort to intimidate Sudan's independent press.
Peter Takirambudde, Africa director at Humn Rights Watch reports, "While international media attention has been focused on Darfur, the Sudanese authorities in Khartoum have been stepping up their harassment of Sudanse journalists and newspapers."
