MYTH OF THE MOTHERLAND (www.mythofthemotherland.com) is a new documentary film project profiling young spoken word artists as they embark on a creative writing journey through diverse African countries to meet with African scholars, writers, artists, activists and others to
address myths and biases about Africa and fricans.

Join Governess Films and Urban Word NYC for an evening of music, spoken word performances and cocktails to benefit MYTH OF THE MOTHERLAND.

Emceed by Def Poet CARLOS ANDRÉS GÓMEZ with special performances by some of NYC's top adult and youth poets including: Roger Bonair-Agard, Kahlil Almustafa, Enmanuel Candelario, Bekah Dinnerstein, Frank Lopez, Rachel McKibbens, Kesed Ragin, Tahani Salah.
