Arts Engine's Media That Matters Film Festival is the premiere showcase for short films with big messages. Launching in June 2007 in New York City with the Awards Ceremony, World Premiere and Media in Action Workshop, the festival runs all year long, reaching an audience of millions through web streaming, broadcasts, DVD distribution and screenings around the world. If you want to make an impact with your short film, this is the festival for you!


• The shorter the better – 8 minutes max

• All genres and youth media welcome

• Seeking films on any/all social and environmental issues – this year, we are particularly interested in films about Immigration, Elections and Democracy, Poverty, LGBT Rights, Recovery of the Gulf Coast, War in Iraq, Social Entrepreneurship

• Cash awards

• Submission fee: $25, free for youth/students
