Help Nonprofit Research, Take an Online Survey

Each year the nonprofit sector dedicates billions of dollars to conducting, producing, and distributing research on complex social issues. Yet very little is known about how the sector currently publishes, disseminates, or accesses the enormous body of research that results from these investments. Consequently, important opportunities for collaboration, data and knowledge sharing, wider dissemination within and outside of the nonprofit arena, and better informed social policies and practices are lost.

In order to better understand the current scope and reach of research activity in the nonprofit sector and how the impact of research activity might be broadened and enhanced, IssueLab, a new online publishing forum for nonprofit research, has commissioned an independent survey. With input from nonprofits, funding organizations, academics, and other individuals who support the sector, IssueLab aims to bring the pursuit and end results of nonprofit research into clearer focus.

This effort is made possible with the support of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the expertise of New Capital Consulting, but relies on your input to help us gain a better understanding of this key issue. We welcome your participation, and ask that you help build the capacity of the nonprofit sector by asking your readers and colleagues to take a few minutes to answer the survey.

Again, the survey can be accessed at http://www.issuelab.com/survey
