Apply for NBPC's 2007 New Media Institute

National Black Programming Consortium’s New Media Institute is calling all mediamakers to apply today!

Deadline: Wednesday, August 22nd
Twenty-five mediamakers will be selected.

The New Media Institute (NMI) is a 6-week virtual workshop series followed by a week-long onsite residence that focuses on the creation of original new media content.

Held in Jackson, Mississippi
November 11th to November 17th

The focus of NMI this year will be the rich culture and history of the Delta region and the impact of Blues music in America.

The projects created will be distributed in a variety of ways including an exhibition in a major Blues museum.

This year’s New Media Institute (NMI) is a professional development residency to train emerging and seasoned filmmakers in the latest digital technologies for creating innovative projects, distribution as well as building audiences.

We welcome media makers looking to transform their existing broadcast programs to a multi-media environment and those interested in creating original pieces for PBS.org.
