Doc Night: The Cuba-Canada Connection

DOC NIGHT: THE CUBA-CANADA CONNECTION – 8PM_“WAITING FOR FIDEL” (1974) looks inside Fidel Castro’s Cuba with a Canadian movie-making threesome whose hope is that Fidel himself will star in their film. “CASTRO’S LIBRARY” (2005) investigates of the Independent Library Movement in Cuba, defended by some as a grassroots activism in the name of intellectual freedom and criticized by others as a façade for counterrevolutionary activity supported by the US Government. “ART WICKS OF BADGER’S QUAY” (2006) examines Newfoundland’s floating homes.
