Nov. 8: Documentary Night: Lay Down Tracks, California
Our friends from Free Form Film Festival are back as guest curators for a fabulous evening of 16mm cinema. In Lay Down Tracks directors Brigid McCaffrey and Danielle Lombardi introduce us to a trucker, carnival worker, railroad executive, chimney sweep/surfer, and nun/riverboat pilot.
According to the filmmakers, "Interweaving these personal narratives from the fringes of transient work culture, Lay Down Tracks considers the tenuous relationship between aspirations and economic necessity within this alternate American Dream. Together, these transient lifestyles speak of local backgrounds, personal identity, and the nature of opportunity."
The screening starts with a short film, Through These Trackless Waters, directed by Elizabeth Henry.
Lay Down Tracks filmmaker Brigid McCaffrey will be in attendance.
