Call for Entries: Best Seat in the House Festival, Rohnert Park, CA
The Best Seat in the House Festival strives to showcase the best films, videos, and audio programs that reflect the true experiences of today’s wheelchair user.
People with disabilities are under-represented in the media, and often the portrayals that do make it through rely on stereotypes that don’t take into account the true experiences of people with disabilities. Too many people don’t realize the diverse, vibrant community of individuals in wheelchairs who live in our neighborhoods.
We are seeking entries that challenge stereotypes, promote dialogue, and envision a universally-accessible future.
We invite you to submit your original film, video, or audio program if it:
- Reflects the contemporary experience of a wheelchair user, or the experience of interacting with a person in a wheelchair.
- Promotes dialogue between people in wheelchairs and the broader community.
