Call for Entries: 2008 Japan Film Festival, Los Angeles, CA

In the spring of 2008 (April 11th to 20th), Japan Film Festival Los Angeles will be coordinated by
Japan America Media Association.

Basic Information:

Venue: ImaginAsian Center
(Downtown LA, near Little Tokyo)

Dates: April 11th to 17th
(18th to 20th in Orange County!)

Film Submission Due Date: Feb 10th (Postmarked)

Despite how many other good Japanese films there are, the only ones that get brought to the states are often only limited to the categories of anime, horror and action movies.

JFF challenges to broaden the understanding of
contemporary Japanese culture, by bringing in great Japanese films that have not yet been screened in the theaters in the states!

There will be 10 to 12 feature films played during the festival. In addition, we are currently accepting submissions from young/independent filmmakers (postmark deadline is Feb 10th). We hope to help young filmmakers to be recognized internationally through our event.

Length of the film does not matter, your film only has to be related to Japan or Japanese culture in someway, or maybe the director or actors are Japanese.
