Call for Entries: LUNAFEST Film Festival, San Francisco, CA

LUNAFEST FILM FESTIVAL
Traveling - USA & CANADA
October 2008 to April 2009

The eighth annual LUNAFEST FILM FESTIVAL celebrates the power of female filmmakers by showcasing powerful, artistic, award-winning short films, all made by women.

LUNAFEST's selected films — at runtimes of 30 minutes or under — travel to 150 cities throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to this widespread exposure, each selected filmmaker receives a $1000 USD cash award, and the opportunity to attend the LUNAFEST premiere in San Francisco.

LUNAFEST has a legacy of featuring notable and up-and-coming women filmmakers from around the world. From accomplished veterans and aspiring indie stars, to amateur filmmakers and young film students, each year's selected filmmakers are warmly welcomed into the LUNA family.

UPCOMING DEADLINE

April 15, 2008 - Regular (Final) Deadline
International submissions are subject to NO ENTRY FEE.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE

LUNAFEST simultaneously promotes women filmmakers and helps to raise awareness for women's issues and build a collective understanding to inspire positive change.

ABOUT LUNAFEST

All proceeds from LUNAFEST are donated to charity; 85% goes to community nonprofit organizations and 15% is donated to the Breast Cancer Fund, an organization dedicated to identifying and advocating for the elimination of environmental causes of the disease. To date, LUNAFEST has raised over $400,000 for worthwhile women's organizations, while raising hope and awareness for women everywhere.

Backseat Bingo director and Festival alum Liz Blazer gushes: "LUNAFEST really stands for something different among festivals...tremendous heart, and it creates amazing legs that carry films to the outer edges of the community, off the typical festival path. I applaud LUNA for its grassroots values — growing community and celebrating women's voices in film."

Women filmmakers, come aboard; submit your shorts to LUNAFEST Film Festival today!
