May 17: Access for Young Women (AFYW) 9th Annual Leadership Conference, Forest Hills, NY

Access for Young Women (AFYW) invites you to attend their 9th Annual Youth Leadership Conference on Saturday May 17, 2008 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

The day's activities include:
- Activities and presentations celebrating girl's leadership
- Fun and informative workshops by AFYW members on Street Safety, Teen Depression, Drug Trafficking, Interracial Relationships, Tibet/China Conflicts and more!
- Special performance by acclaimed spoken word artist Felice Belle
- Dance, music, and spoken word performances by Queens Community House youth.
- Free Breakfast and Lunch!

Access for Young Women (AFYW) is a program of Queens Community House aimed at promoting gender equity and leadership in girls ages 12-18. The program is held at sites in Forest Hills, Jackson Heights, and Newtown and Hillcrest High Schools in Queens, NY.

AFYW is now in its 14th year of providing valuable leadership opportunities to young women residing in Queens. The program has demonstrated proven results in increasing participant’s self-esteem, academic performance, leadership skills, and knowledge of gender issues.
