Angelus Student Film Festival Extends Call for Entries Deadline to July 1 !
Prizes total more than $50,000; Grand prize is $10,000
The 13th annual Angelus Student Film Festival, named as the "best film festival bet" for student filmmakers by MovieMaker magazine, has extended its deadline to July 1.
The international competition honors student filmmakers as they explore and create works that respect the dignity of the human person.
All genres will be accepted, including dramas, comedy, documentary and animation.
Eligible films' running time is 90 minutes or less, and they must have been completed between June 2006 and July 2008 while the filmmaker was an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited film school or university.
Previous Angelus honorees include Hilla Medalia (2004 Documentary winner), writer-director of the Peabody Award-winning HBO documentary To Die In Jerusalem, Barbara Stepansky (2006 grand-prize winner), writer-director of the feature-length thriller Hurt, starring Melora Walters and William Mapother; and Ham Tran (2003 Production Design) whose critically acclaimed feature film Journey from the Fall was an official selection of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.
The 2008 Angelus Student Film Festival will be held Saturday, September 13 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood. Family Theater Productions, Hollywood, created and continues to conduct the Angelus Student Film Festival.
