Oct. 6-28: I Kiffe NY; New York, N.Y.
I Kiffe NY is an urban culture festival delivered to New York by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. The festival is a culmination of the many vibrant facets of France's inner city art including hip hop dance and music, thought-inducing lectures and films covering the misrepresentation of Parisian ghettos.
The films presented will cover the volatile lives of inhabitants anchored in the banlieues (Parisian housing projects) and their personal, political and social crises as a result. In affiliation with the French Institute Alliance Francaise, these films aim to represent both the harsh realities of everyday life as well as the false pretenses that the impoverished live under.
The following is a list of various films, including their date, time and special presentations.
