May 4: Bridging the Divide: Unlocking the Byzantine Film Model

The Southeast European and American film industries have a lot to offer each other, but due to a host of historical barriers the potential benefits remain largely untapped resources. This is why the Southeast European Film Festival is bringing industry pros and newcomers from both regions together on May 4th on the UCLA campus for a conference entitled “Bridging the Divide: Unlocking the Byzantine Film Model.” It will be an opportunity to discuss and create new ways to increase cooperation between filmmakers in the various countries (including Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania and the countries of the former Yugoslavia in the Southeast European region)  and increased cooperation between filmmakers from both parts of the world. This is an excellent opportunity for cross-pollination of ideas on how to benefit from increased cooperation between American and Southeast European filmmakers.

“Bridging the Divide: Unlocking the Byzantine Film Model” will be held Monday, May 4th from 10am - 1pm in the Faculty Lounge on the UCLA campus. Participants may register at http://www.itsmyseat.com/DisplayEvent.html?sse=863417 Prior registration is required for attendance.
