Just Vision Seeks Documentary Film Editor
Just Vision is looking to hire an experienced film editor for its new feature documentary, tentatively called Budrus Has A Hammer.
Here is a brief synopsis: A Palestinian community organizer unites all Palestinian factions along with Israelis in a Gandhian struggle to save his village, unleashing a non-violent movement that is still gaining ground today. In a 70-minute, action-filled documentary featuring exclusive archival footage of this 5-year movement from its infancy, Budrus Has A Hammer will inspire, charm and challenge audiences worldwide.
The film is directed and executive produced by the makers of Control Room and Encounter Point.
Directed by Julia Bacha, produced by Bacha, Ronit Avni and Rula Salameh and Executive Produced by Avni and Jehane Noujaim.
Requirements:
1- Experience editing feature length documentaries in a foreign language. Arabic and Hebrew a plus.
2- Strong ability to create a story structure and develop characters in a documentary.
3- Experience editing action scenes and building suspense.
4- Experience managing over one hundred hours of PAL MiniDV footage in a Final Cut Pro system.
5- Dedicated, detail-oriented, highly motivated, ready to roll up your sleeves and patient.
Location: Washington, DC
Start date: May 4th, 2009 or as soon as possible.
End date: Until project is finished; commitment of 10 weeks required.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
