Non-Profit Doc Volunteer Opportunity
The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDCo), a community based non-profit working to build a more beautiful and prosperous Bronx, is immediately seeking a creative film student or professional videographer to donate their services in creating a 3 to 5 minute video about our Home Based Childcare Microenterprise Program. This successful program has been helping community members start and grow successful home-based childcare businesses for 14 years.
Our goal is to create a short video to document the impact and success of the program on the participants and their community; as well as to serve as a marketing tool for potential funders. The video will feature interviews with a select group of our childcare providers, a brief overview of the program from our director and footage of the childcare facilities and trainings.
Candidates should be creative self-starters with good interpersonal and organizational skills, and must have access to editing software. An interest in human service non-profits, childcare or microenterprise is preferred, but not required.
The position is flexible and we are happy to work with your scheduling needs. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity/internship.
For students, credit is offered. More information on WHEDCo and the Home-based Childcare Microenterprise Program can be found at www.whedco.org.
