Call For Entries: Doc Miami International Film Festival
Winner of Production Hub Magazine’s 2011 Film Festival Superlatives in the “Spiciest” category, DOC MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is now accepting submissions for its 2011 Festival. Held in sunny South Florida, this festival will showcase three nights of film, music and hope from September 22-25, 2011.
DOC MIAMI will feature cutting edge documentary films that promote unique contributions in the evolution of the cultural arts within South Florida and the entertainment industry as a whole. On hand will be the outstanding musical entertainment of Javier Batiz, “The Godfather of Mexican Blues,” and Tito Puente, Jr. with spoken word poet extraordinaire Rich Ferguson. Together they are contributing their talents to help raise money and hope for DOC MIAMI’s “Brick by Brick Tanzania,” a non-profit that builds much-needed schools for the children of Tanzania.
Films can be submitted in the following categories:
Feature Documentary: 61-180 minutes in length
Documentary Medium-Length and Essay Forms: 31-60 minutes in length
Documentary Short: 4-30 minutes in length
MiniMovies: under 4 minutes in length
Please note that all films in a language other than English require English subtitles.
The late deadline for all entries is June 15. All Florida filmmakers will receive a special discount. For further details on dates and submission fees please visit http://tinyurl.com/submit2011.
