Call For Entries: St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival
Held in picturesque Newfoundland, Canada, the 22nd Annual ST. JOHN’S INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S FILM FESTIVAL (SJIWFF) supports and promotes the work of women filmmakers through film screenings, workshops, panel discussions, and other events, culminating in a five-day film festival celebrating original, independent, high-caliber works created by women.
SJIWFF showcases an inspiring line-up of films produced, written, or directed by women to industry executives, savvy audiences, and the Canadian and international marketplace. The highly anticipated Film Forum, which features keynote addresses, seminars, workshops, and face-to-face industry meetings for emerging filmmakers and seasoned producers, runs in conjunction with the festival and has included participants such as acclaimed indie producer Christine Vachon (BOYS DON’T CRY), programmer Roberta Munroe, and author/pitch expert Jan Miller.
The Festival seeks to make attending filmmakers’ experience a memorable and productive one. Participating filmmakers are given VIP treatment and receive all-access passes to screenings and events. They are also given opportunities to meet broadcasters, distributors, and various other attending industry professionals. What’s more, SJIWFF offers travel assistance.
