Call For Entries: Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival
The Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival is now accepting short films of all formats, made by those between the ages of 18-28 that are under 20 minutes in length!
FEES AND DEADLINE
1. Submissions to be considered for the festival lineup of the 3rd Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival must be received by April 29th, 2011 at 6pm. Any submission received after this date will not be considered. Early submissions are encouraged.
2. There is a flat $10 submission fee for every entrant that covers all the submissions from the same entrant.
3. Fee can be paid with a certified cheque made out to “Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival”. Personal Cheques will not be accepted. Cash payments can be made in person at submission drop site. Do not send cash in mail.
SELECTION
4. A selection committee will view all eligible submissions and consider each individual project for induction into the festival lineup.
5. All decisions made by the selection committee are final and not subject to appeal.
ELIGIBILITY
6. All entries must be submitted by either the director or producer of the work.
7. The director of the film must be between the ages of 18 and 28 inclusive by July 1st, 2011. Proof of age will be required.
8. All directors must be a resident of the Greater Toronto Area.
9. Preference will be given to premiere screenings.
10. All works must be 20 minutes or under in length, including titles and credits. Any film exceeding this limit will not be considered.
11. Incomplete entries are ineligible.
12. Do not send master copies – submissions will NOT be returned.
13. All entries must be accompanied by a submission form.
14. Films and videos can be of any language but any film not in English must have embedded English sub-titles.
15. Multiple entries are accepted but each entry must be accompanied by a separate form and submission materials.
16. Tapes and discs must be labeled with film title, running time and director’s name. Please label the tape and disc itself and not the box/case.
17. Multiple submissions may be put on one tape but must be separated with ten seconds of black between each submission. You will also need to provide chronology or time-code of tape’s contents if this is the case.
COMPLEMENTARY MATERIALS
18. All narrative works that wish to compete for the screenplay award must include the screenplay of the film. This can be sent as a MS Word file.
19. Along with your copies of the film, please include the following:
i) high quality director’s headshot
ii) artist statement on the work (1 page max)
iii) high quality photos or stills
iv) director’s biography (1 page max - not the same as the artist statement)
20. It is strongly encouraged to submit a trailer or promo spot with the film as it can be used to promote your film at other screenings.
