June 26: Community Media Briefing on NYC Service Volunteerism Program

Diahann Billings-Burford, the City’s - and the nation’s - first municipal Chief Service Officer, will lead a community media briefing on the NYC Service program on Friday, June 26th at 11:00 AM at Gracie Mansion. NYC Service is the City’s program to promote a new era of service and volunteerism in New York City and lead the nation in meeting President Obama’s nationwide call to service. NYC Service program has three main goals: channel the power of volunteers to address the impacts of the current economic downturn, make New York City the easiest city in America in which to serve, and ensure every young person in New York City is taught about civic engagement and has an opportunity to serve.
