Description
The Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation is a social entrepreneurship organisation that funds UK and UK-based Documentary Filmmakers.
The Foundation exists to nurture new talent and new approaches in documentary filmmaking. With its launch, the Foundation brings a completely new way – alongside television – to develop, fund and distribute the work of the next generation of UK documentary filmmakers.
So far our grants have enabled over 40 wonderful, award winning and influential films to be made. But our work only begins there – we train, inform, inspire, gather and campaign too.
The media landscape is transforming fast and we are committed to going beyond TV to find new ways to make important, world changing documentaries happen. We need partners to help us achieve our goals, so we also act as brokers between filmmakers and charities, NGOs, foundations, brands and media to form powerful alliances around groundbreaking films.
