Animating Democracy: Strengthening the Role of Art
From 1999 to 2003, Americans for Arts’ Animating Democracy Lab provided grants and advisory support to 32 cultural organizations across the country to implement projects that experimented with or deepened existing approaches to arts- and humanities-based civic dialogue. Investigation through these diverse projects, individually and collectively, aimed to advance field learning about the philosophical, practical, and social dimensions of this work. Arthur Vining Davis Foundations

Center for Asian American Media Fund
The Center for Asian American Media provides funding and support for provocative and engaging Asian American film and media projects from independent producers. CAAM awards production and completion funds for projects intended for public television broadcast. Since 1990, more than $3 million has been granted to over 150 projects. Funding is made possible with support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Council on Foundations - Film & Video Festival
The Film & Video Festival showcases foundation-funded productions and the strategies by which grantmakers use film, video and television productions to advance their program goals. Experimental Television Center Arts Grants
The Experimental Television Center provides support to electronic media and film artists and organizations in New York State to encourage creative work; to facilitate the exhibition of moving-image and sound art to audiences in all regions of the State; and to strengthen organizations with active media programs. Since 1989 we have awarded over $750,000 to organizations and artists. The program is made possible with support from the New York State Council on the Arts.

ITVS Funding Resource
ITVS funds, distributes and promotes new programs primarily for public television. We work with independent producers to create and present programs that take creative risks, advance issues and represent points of view not usually seen on public or commercial television. The Paul Robeson Media Fund
Named to honor singer, actor and civil rights activist Paul Robeson, the Fund supports media activism and grassroots organizing by funding the pre-production and distribution of social issue film and video projects and the production and distribution of radio projects, made by local, state, national or international organizations and individual media producers. The Fund solicits projects of all genres that address critical social and political issues, combine intellectual clarity with creative use of the medium and demonstrate understanding of how the production will be used for progressive social justice organizing.
The maximum grant award is $20,000; most grants range between $5,000 and $15,000. The Fund has one grant cycle a year.
